These Terms govern your use of the GlyScan.AI mobile application and related services ("GlyScan.AI" or the "App"), operated by Voyager One Labs UK Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using GlyScan.AI, you agree to these Terms.
Important Medical Disclaimer
GlyScan.AI provides general nutritional information and AI-estimated glycemic impact for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice, not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional healthcare, dietetic, or nutrition advice.
Do not use GlyScan.AI to diagnose, treat, manage, or prevent diabetes or any other medical condition, to dose insulin or medication, or to make emergency or treatment decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian for personal health decisions, medical conditions, allergies, medication decisions, pregnancy, eating disorders, or dietary changes.
Description Of Service
GlyScan.AI lets you scan food photos, product photos, and grocery barcodes, view educational glycemic-impact estimates, save local history, review simple insights, export CSV data, and delete local app data.
Saved scan history is local-first. GlyScan.AI does not provide account-based cloud synchronization for saved history.
Eligibility
GlyScan.AI is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 18, use the App only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
AI And Barcode Results
AI-generated results are estimates based on image appearance, available context, and general nutrition patterns. The App may misidentify food, portion size, preparation method, ingredients, calories, macronutrients, estimated impact category, or possible substitutes.
Barcode results depend on third-party product database information, including Open Food Facts where available. Product names, brands, ingredients, categories, nutrition values, and barcode availability may be missing, incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
Food photos, product photos, estimated impact categories, calories, macronutrients, barcode verdicts, and possible substitutes are AI or database estimates, not measurements, clinical outputs, or verified nutrition-label guarantees.
Educational estimate only. Actual nutritional and glycemic responses vary by individual, portion size and preparation method.
GlyScan.AI is not an insulin calculator, medication dosing tool, diabetes management tool, or clinical decision-support system. Individuals with Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, insulin use, glucose-lowering medication, or any medical condition must not rely on GlyScan.AI estimates to dose medication, adjust insulin, or make treatment decisions.
You are responsible for deciding whether to rely on any information shown in the App. You should verify all information before relying on it, and any decisions based on GlyScan.AI outputs are your sole responsibility. Do not rely on GlyScan.AI as your only source of information for allergies, ingredient safety, medication decisions, medical conditions, eating disorders, pregnancy, diabetes, kidney disease, or other health-related issues.
No Allergy, Label, Or Safety Guarantee
GlyScan.AI is not an allergy, ingredient-safety, food-safety, or product-recall tool. Always check product packaging, restaurant information, official product materials, and qualified professional advice before relying on ingredient, allergen, nutrition, or safety information.
Assumption Of Risk
You use GlyScan.AI voluntarily and at your own risk. AI-generated analyses, glycemic-impact estimates, barcode verdicts, smart swaps, nutrient estimates, and other app outputs may contain errors, omissions, or unsafe assumptions for your circumstances. You are responsible for verifying information with appropriate sources and qualified professionals before acting on it.
User Content
You are responsible for images, barcode scans, notes, or other content you submit or process through the App. You should not scan private documents, faces, payment cards, medical records, illegal content, harmful content, or content that infringes another person's rights.
You grant us a limited permission to process, transmit, and analyze scan content only as needed to provide the App features, including sending food or product images through our backend to AI providers and sending barcode values through our backend to product database providers.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse GlyScan.AI, including by:
- attempting to bypass scan limits, subscriptions, or backend protections;
- automating, scraping, load testing, or abusing the App or backend API;
- submitting private, sensitive, unlawful, harmful, misleading, or non-food content for analysis;
- attempting unauthorized access to our systems, providers, databases, or infrastructure;
- using GlyScan.AI for medical diagnosis, treatment, medication decisions, emergency decisions, or medical-condition management.
Purchases And Subscriptions
Paid plans are processed through Apple using your Apple ID. Available plans may include weekly, monthly, and annual subscriptions.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period in your App Store account settings. Prices, periods, and renewal terms are shown before purchase in Apple's purchase flow. Apple handles refunds according to Apple policies.
Technical downtime, provider outages, API failures, unavailable barcode data, unavailable AI analysis, or temporary interruption of server-dependent features do not entitle you to consequential damages, indirect losses, or compensation outside the refund rights available through Apple or applicable law. App Store purchase refunds are managed by Apple under Apple's refund policies.
Free scans, paid scan limits, subscription benefits, and available products may change over time. Current limits are shown in the app and remain subject to fair-use and abuse-prevention protections.
Voyager One Labs UK Ltd reserves the right to implement, modify, and enforce fair-use limits on scan requests to maintain service stability, preserve reliability, and manage underlying processing costs. Premium subscriptions grant access to enhanced features subject to these fair-use thresholds.
Apple App Store Terms
Your download, purchase, subscription, cancellation, refund, and use of GlyScan.AI may also be subject to Apple's App Store, Apple Media Services, and standard licensed application terms. GlyScan.AI uses Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless a custom EULA is shown in App Store Connect. You can review Apple's Standard EULA at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
If Apple's mandatory terms apply and conflict with these Terms, Apple's mandatory terms control for that issue.
Server-Dependent Features
AI food analysis, product photo analysis, barcode lookup, entitlement verification, and certain Premium features rely on network availability and third-party services. These features may be unavailable, delayed, modified, or discontinued if providers change, become unavailable, or are no longer commercially reasonable to support.
We are not responsible for delay, failure, suspension, or interruption caused by events outside our reasonable control, including internet or cloud-provider outages, AI provider outages, App Store or payment-system issues, security incidents, changes in law or provider policy, natural events, labour disputes, war, terrorism, civil unrest, or other force-majeure events.
Third-Party Services And Data
GlyScan.AI may rely on third-party services for AI analysis, product data, hosting, purchase validation, and app platform functionality. We are not responsible for third-party outages, data errors, provider policy changes, or third-party content outside our reasonable control.
GlyScan.AI incorporates product data from Open Food Facts, which is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Voyager One Labs UK Ltd provides this data "as is" and makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness, accuracy, or currency of any product data retrieved from external repositories.
Local Storage And Device Changes
Saved scan history, goals, images, preferences, and exported records are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, clear local data, replace your device, or do not restore from a device backup, local records may be lost.
Purchase status is handled separately through Apple and purchase-entitlement service providers. Restoring a purchase may restore eligible premium access, but it does not restore saved scans or local history from a previous device.
Intellectual Property
GlyScan.AI, including its app design, code, branding, logos, icons, user interface, text, and related materials, is owned by Voyager One Labs UK Ltd or its licensors. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial use.
No Warranty
GlyScan.AI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that GlyScan.AI will meet your requirements, produce accurate or reliable results, remain available at all times, or be free from defects, data loss, security incidents, provider failures, or technical errors.
No information or advice obtained from GlyScan.AI, the website, support communications, or related materials creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voyager One Labs UK Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or health-related damages arising from use of GlyScan.AI, inability to use GlyScan.AI, AI-generated results, scan estimates, third-party product data, service interruption, loss of local data, or reliance on educational information.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Voyager One Labs UK Ltd for any and all claims arising out of or in connection with the use of GlyScan.AI shall be limited to the total amount actually paid by you to us via the App Store for the specific service or subscription during the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or fifty pounds sterling (£50.00), whichever is greater.
Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Voyager One Labs UK Ltd from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your misuse of GlyScan.AI, unlawful scan content, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, or attempts to bypass subscriptions, fair-use limits, security, or service protections.
Non-Excludable Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Severability And No Third-Party Rights
If any part of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
No person other than you and Voyager One Labs UK Ltd has any right to enforce these Terms, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
Changes And Termination
We may update GlyScan.AI or these Terms. We may restrict access if we reasonably believe the App or backend is being abused, used unlawfully, or used in a way that could harm users or service reliability.
Governing Law And Forum Selection
These Terms, your use of GlyScan.AI, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with our services shall be governed exclusively by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales.
You agree that any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to GlyScan.AI shall be instituted exclusively in the courts of England and Wales. You submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum (forum non conveniens), to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms affects non-waivable consumer rights or mandatory jurisdiction protections available to you under applicable consumer law.
